We had our own little memorial for Mr. Ikeda last Saturday (June 19, 2010). It was a sunrise memorial on the other side of the island.Sam organized the event that took place at about 5:30 in the morning out at Laie point. It was actually a pretty nice morning and we got to see the sun rise out over the ocean.
Cooler than that was the fact that for a little while it started to rain. At first we were thinking it was kind of a damper on the nice morning but the rain brought with it a FULL rainbow.
One that went end to end.
It seemed like a nice way to end the tribute...
Kinda made you think of Iz's Somewhere Over the Rainbow song. Seeing as how much he loved Hawaii, I think Mr. Ikeda would have liked it.
