I finally went out and got an iPod Touch the other day...
My main hold back was usually the fact that unlike my old iPod nano, I couldn't clip it onto my belt and "blindly" play and scroll through my songs. I usually wear my iPod on my belt with the ear buds running up my back under my shirt. With the iPod nano, I could start the iPod up, fast forward, reverse, pause, etc...without having to look down at what I was doing. Because it was still a "button" layout, I just reached down to my hip and press a button. With the iPod Touch, I thought that you had to be able to see where you were pressing on the screen to start the player or do anything...that was one of my main hold backs.
I was at Best Buy and a sales girl came up to me and asked if I needed any help. I explained the situation and that I was just contemplating on getting the iPod Touch. She explained that if you double tap the home button, it brings up a basic player menu and you don't have to unlock the iPod. That and a later conversation with a sales girl at the Apple Store who told me that there is a remote control on the ear buds that would allow me to also "blindly" control my iPod is what finally sold me...that and the fact that I can now play Dragon's Lair and Space Ace on a portable platform!
I will miss the way the album art was displayed when playing a song on the iPod nano though...that and the music quiz that came with it.
